Abel, a North Philadelphia furniture business owner, became an Empowerment Group consulting client in September 2003 because he wanted to expand his business.  After two months, Abel created four new jobs for people in his community.  In a community where jobs are hard to come by, stable, responsible, local employers are the key to ending poverty.
